School of Biosciences, Chanakya University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the positions of 2 Junior Research Fellows and 3 Project Assistants, purely on temporary basis. The successful candidates will participate in the ongoing research projects of the faculty and provide support for the operations of the laboratory and the school. These positions will be available initially for one year and can be extended based on the performance. 

Junior Research fellows (JRF)

1. Responsibilities: JRF will participate in the research projects of the faculty and suitable candidates will be enrolled for the PhD program at the University. Candidates with their own fellowships such as NET-JRF, DST-INSPIRE and DBT fellowships are preferred, however, Chanakya University will provide few fellowships for outstanding candidates.
2. Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
3. Desirable Experiences and skills:

1. Candidates having fellowships such as NET-JRF, DBT or DST-INSPIRE or ICMR or UGC NET or CSIR NET are preferred.
2. 1-2 years research experience in the academic laboratory/industry.
3. Experience in mammalian cell culture/ molecular biology techniques /protein chemistry/ clinical sample analysis, will be preferred.
4. Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Office packages.
5. Motivation to work on a long-term basis.

Project Assistants (PA)

1. Responsibilities: PA will work in the ongoing research projects of the faculty and will provide support for the maintenance of the equipment and laboratory space. Remuneration as per host institution’s norm.
2. Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
3. Desirable experience:

1. Experience in mammalian cell culture/ molecular biology techniques / clinical sample collection and analysis, protein chemistry will be preferred.
2. Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Office packages.
