The Minor in Social Sciences is a meticulously designed programme aimed at aspirants preparing for the Civil Services Examination (CSE).

Covering 45 credits, it offers an interdisciplinary approach across History, Polity, Geography, Economy, Ethics and International Relations, along with specialised training in CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) and current affairs. With the academic rigour of the university framework and practical insights from Samkalp IAS faculty, this programme ensures a holistic understanding of governance, society and public administration.

  • The Chronicles of Bharata from Vedic Rishis to Mughal Padishahs
    This course explores India’s historical evolution from the Vedic period to the Mughal era. Topics include the Rigvedic society, the Mauryan and Gupta empires, Delhi Sultanate, and the Mughal administration. Students gain insights into the political, cultural, and economic transformations of each era. It is crucial for General Studies (GS) Paper I in prelims and mains, helping with questions on ancient and medieval history as well as cultural developments.

  • Physical Geography of the World
    This course covers the physical geography of Earth, including landforms, climatic regions, ocean currents, and ecosystems. Students study natural processes like plate tectonics, erosion, and climate change. The knowledge is crucial for GS Paper I, where understanding global geography is tested in prelims, and for mains, where questions on climate systems and geographical phenomena frequently appear.

  • Foundational Principles of the Indian Constitution

  • Physical Geography of India
