School of Biosciences, Chanakya University invites applications from eligible candidates for the positions of two Teaching Assistants in Computational Biology. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching activities related to computational biology, programming, bioinformatics, biological databases, and related areas, while also participating in various academic activities within the school.

The selected candidates will assist in conducting both practical and theory sessions, support computational laboratory activities, mentor students, and contribute to the development of teaching materials and other academic resources.

Responsibilities:

The teaching assistants will assist faculty members in:

• Conducting practical/tutorial sessions related to computational biology and programming
• Supporting courses involving Python programming, bioinformatics, computational biology etc.
• Assisting students during computational laboratory sessions and academic activities
• Preparing teaching materials, assignments, presentations, and evaluations
• Supporting the maintenance of computational facilities and laboratory resources
• Assisting in interdisciplinary academic and research-related activities of the school

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Computational Biology / Bioinformatics / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Computer Science / Computational Chemistry / Life Sciences or related disciplines with at least 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
• Candidates with a Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry, Computational Biophysics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related computational fields are encouraged to apply and will be preferred.
• Basic programming knowledge (Python/Bash or related languages) is desirable.
• Familiarity with Linux environment and computational tools will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of bioinformatics, biological databases, and computational biology is preferred.
• Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, computational biology, and academic development.
• Good analytical, communication, and scientific writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be provided as per the institution’s norms and will be based on the qualification and experience of the candidate.
