Yoga Day Celebration

Chanakya University celebrated World Yoga Day on June 21st at its Global Campus, reinforcing the significance of yoga in Indian Knowledge Systems. The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit ‘yuj,’ meaning ‘union,’. Yoga embodies a disciplined approach to aligning body and mind. The regular practice of yoga heightened awareness (smriti), cognitive acuity (buddhi), emotional equilibrium (santosha), and physical dynamism (Shakti).

It was led by Dr. Vinayachandra Banavathy and Dr. Ramakrishna Pejataya, and featured a series of asanas with brief explanations of their therapeutic benefits. Students and staff actively participated in the celebration. This event symbolises a collective embrace of tradition and physical-emotional well-being.
