Research talk by Dr. Dipto Sinha
Date:10-04-2026A stimulating scientific session was delivered by Dr. Dipto Sinha on the topic “Apicomplexans: Cellular Design, Molecular Execution” at SBS. The talk offered deep insights into the fascinating biology of apicomplexan parasites, highlighting how their unique cellular architecture underpins highly specialized molecular processes essential for survival, host invasion, and disease progression.
Dr. Sinha, currently serving as a Research Scientist at Metastop Solutions, is a molecular parasitology researcher specializing in Plasmodium and Toxoplasma cell and molecular biology, as well as infectious disease drug discovery. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and has carried out postdoctoral research at the University Grenoble-Alpes, Grenoble, and Institut Pasteur, France. His work integrates genetic engineering, advanced microscopy, and mechanistic biology to uncover parasite function and identify novel therapeutic targets.
The talk was highly appreciated for its clarity, depth, and relevance to ongoing challenges in parasitic diseases.
