Date:13-02-2026Dr. Sumi S, faculty at SBS, delivered an invited talk at the 2nd Indian Vascular Biology Symposium (VBS 2026) held on 13–14 February 2026 at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR.
Launched in 2025, the Indian Vascular Biology Symposium serves as a national platform bringing together leading researchers across India to advance discovery and innovation in vascular biology. The VBS2026 meeting featured scientific sessions on vascular development, endothelial signaling, repair and regeneration, and the role of endothelial cells in diverse pathologies.
Dr. Sumi S presented her research talk titled “Listening to Flow: Mechanobiology of the Vascular Endothelium.” Her lecture highlighted how mechanical forces such as shear stress regulate endothelial cell behaviour and gene expression, and how altered flow dynamics contribute to vascular dysfunction and disease. The presentation stimulated engaging discussions on mechanotransduction pathways and emerging therapeutic targets in vascular disorders.
