Talk by Dr. Sourav Banerjee
Date:15-07-2025The School of Biosciences, Chanakya University, had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Sourav Banerjee, Research Scientist at University of Cambridge. Dr. Banerjee delivered an insightful session on the parasitic mechanisms of Trypanosoma and Leishmania. He elaborated on how these parasites evade the host immune system, highlighting complex molecular strategies supported by advanced cell biology techniques such as microscopy and spatial proteomics.
Dr. Banerjee emphasized on the growing relevance of these parasitic diseases in India, based on the higher incidence rates. He further shared his ongoing research exploring the evolutionary divergence of Trypanosoma. Following the talk, Dr. Banerjee interacted with the faculty and students, fostering further exchange of ideas.
