About
Ph.D., Rastriya Sanskrit Samsthana, SringeriAbout
Ph.D., Rastriya Sanskrit Samsthana, SringeriMy research interest is grounded in the deep traditions of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), especially using Vyakarana as tool (Sanskrit grammar) I am studying Bhāratīya Arthaśāstra Tradition, Indian Health Systems and Itihāsa. With a keen interest in integrating classical frameworks with contemporary needs, I explore the intersections of ancient Indian political theory, governance, and wellness traditions. My work aims to reinterpret and revive traditional Indian thought by aligning it with modern governance and lifestyle management frameworks.
In particular, I am drawn to the foundational Indian texts like Kautilya’s Arthashastra, Pañcatantra, Rāmāyaṇa, Mahābhārata, Caraka Saṃhitā and Aṣṭāṅga Hṛdaya. These texts are treasure troves of nuanced perspectives on statecraft, and societal health. My doctoral research led to the creation of a software prototype for generating Taddhita words based on Panini’s grammar rules, which combines computational linguistics with Sanskrit grammar.
My current research investigates political and ethical concepts in texts like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Arthashastra, aiming to bring out indigenous perspectives on sovereignty, kingship, diplomacy, war, and welfare. I also contribute to MOOCs and textbooks that make these systems more accessible. Through teaching, translation, editorial work, and collaboration with ministries and educational institutions, I strive to rekindle interest in our civilizational knowledge and make it relevant for current and future generations.
