The School of Biosciences (SBS), Chanakya University invites applications from qualified, motivated, and technically proficient candidates for the position of Scientific Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day operation, maintenance, and routine handling of advanced instruments and laboratory facilities, including confocal microscope, flow cytometer, ITC, mass spectrometer, fluorescence microscope, and other bioscience laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine instrument checks, calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to the operation and functioning of laboratory instruments, and coordinate with service engineers/vendors when required.
- Maintain appropriate records, logbooks, and documentation related to instrument usage, maintenance, and servicing.
- Assist faculty, and research scholars, in the proper and safe use of laboratory instruments.
- Conduct short demonstration, orientation, and hands-on training sessions for students and researchers on instrument operation and laboratory practices.
Qualifications
Essential Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
OR
- M.Tech./M.E. in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with at least one year of relevant hands-on experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced biological/biomedical laboratory instruments.
Desirable:
- Candidates with hands-on experience in confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, ITC, mass spectrometry, or other advanced bioscience instrumentation will be preferred.
- Prior experience in an academic, research, diagnostic, or R&D laboratory involving routine instrument operation and maintenance will be an added advantage.
