School of Biosciences, Chanakya University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the positions of 2 Project Assistants (PA) in the area of computational biophysics, purely on temporary basis. Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to work in RNA-based drug discovery using biomolecular simulation methods and computational chemistry/biology tools. The successful candidates will participate in the ongoing collaborative research projects of the faculty and provide support for the operations of the laboratory, computational facilities and the school. These positions will be available initially for 3 months and can be extended based on the performance.
- Responsibilities: PA will work in the ongoing computational research projects of the faculty and will provide support for the maintenance of the equipment, computational facilities and laboratory space. Remuneration as per host institution’s norm.
- Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Biochemistry/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Computational Chemistry/ Computational Biology or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
- Desirable experience:
- Basic knowledge of biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or related fields Interest in computational biology/chemistry and drug discovery
- Basic programming knowledge (Python/Bash etc.) is desirable Familiarity with Linux environment is an advantage Willingness to learn molecular simulation techniques
- Interest in RNA & Protein biology and biomolecular systems Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team Good communication and scientific writing skills
