Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) supported by Centre for Integrated Public Health, Chanakya University, Bangalore. The selected candidate will work with Dr. Shubhada Hegde, Associate Professor, School of Biosciences, on the ongoing research project in her laboratory. This position will be available initially for one year and can be extended based on the performance.

Essential Qualifications

1. Master’s degree (M.Sc/M.Tech OR equivalent) in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics or a related discipline, with a solid understanding of molecular biology, systems biology, and/or pharmacology.
2. Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages, with experience in biological data analysis, statistics, and visualization, including handling large datasets.
3. Experience in searching, retrieving, and integrating data from biological databases, along with familiarity in systems biology approaches such as network analysis, pathway analysis, or network pharmacology.
4. Ability to read and interpret scientific literature, document workflows, and communicate results effectively through written and verbal means.

Desirable qualifications:

1. 1-2 years of research experience in an academic laboratory.
2. Willingness to actively participate in laboratory organization and maintainance.
3. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
4. Motivation to pursue research on a long-term basis. Suitable candidates may be considered for enrolment in the PhD program at Chanakya University, subject to university regulations.
