Dr. Dheeraj Paramesha Chaya is a Lecturer in Intelligence and International Security at the University of Hull, United Kingdom. He earned his Ph.D. in Intelligence Studies from the University of Leicester for research on the impact of India’s intelligence culture on its strategic surprises. He is the author of India’s Intelligence Culture and Strategic Surprises: Spying for South Block (Routledge), the first academic work on India’s foreign intelligence. Beyond academia, he trains Indian security forces on intelligence, counterintelligence, radicalisation and counterterrorism, and authored the intelligence training manual of the Karnataka State Intelligence. He writes regularly on national security affairs.
