M.Sc., Bangalore UniversityMy primary research interest is in decision making.
My work explores how humans make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, complexity, and competing values. I am interested in the subtle interplay between anticipation, perception, and adaptive behavior—how momentary choices reflect deeper cognitive processes and emotional states. This inquiry spans neural, behavioural, and computational domains, asking not only how decisions are made, but why certain patterns persist, shift, or resist change.
At its core, this research is driven by a fascination with the architecture of choice: how individuals weigh risk, interpret context, and navigate goals amidst constraint. By bridging empirical methods with theoretical insight, I aim to illuminate the nuanced scaffolding of human judgment and its relevance across disciplines—from ethics to design, policy to cognition.
Ajay Chandra has been a faculty member at Chanakya University’s School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences since 2022. His work spans cognitive psychology, public policy, mental health, school and higher education.
He has contributed to research in the areas of adolescent mental health, gifted education, public health, urban governance and equitable vaccine strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ajay is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Psychology, with an emphasis on experimental design.
Outside the classroom, Ajay engages with data science applications in behavioural research and is an avid reader of nonfiction literature.
