Ph.D., The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad English Language EducationMy primary research interest lies in understanding the cognitive processes underlying learning and how these processes interact with instructional design to influence learning outcomes. I seek to investigate how learners perceive, process, retain, and apply knowledge in diverse educational contexts, with the aim of generating evidence that informs effective teaching and learning practices. Drawing on classroom-based research, learning analytics, and psychological measures, I aim to identify the cognitive, affective, and contextual factors that facilitate or hinder learning. These may include attention, cognitive load, metacognition, motivation, self-regulation, prior knowledge, task characteristics, and classroom interactions.
A central goal of my research is to translate these insights into pedagogically meaningful outcomes. I am particularly interested in designing evidence-based curricula, instructional strategies, and learning materials that align with learners’ cognitive needs and developmental trajectories. Rather than adopting one-size-fits-all approaches, I advocate for context-sensitive educational designs that accommodate learner diversity and promote meaningful engagement.
Ultimately, my research aims to bridge the gap between cognitive theory and educational practice. By integrating findings from cognitive science, educational psychology, and classroom research, I aspire to contribute to the development of learner-centred curricula and innovative learning resources that enhance educational quality across disciplines.
