Vittala Eye Hospital Team Visits SBS

SBS welcomed a team from Vittala Eye Hospital to explore opportunities for collaborative research. The delegation included Prof. Savithri, Dr. Krishna Murthy, Dr. Praveen Murthy, and members of their research team. Ayurveda physicians from The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) also joined the meeting online, bringing together expertise from clinical ophthalmology, biosciences, and traditional medicine.

The discussions focused on interdisciplinary research in ocular health, with particular emphasis on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the potential of traditional formulations in improving eye health and combating resistant infections. The participants also explored opportunities for joint research projects, collaborative grant applications, PhD scholar exchange, and student internship programmes.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both institutions expressing a shared commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research and developing long-term collaborations that integrate clinical practice, basic science, and traditional medical knowledge to address emerging challenges in ophthalmic research.
