Climate change vulnerability and adaptation, Migration, Public Policy

My research interests broadly fall in public economics. Specifically, I am interested in climate change vulnerability analysis and the development of climate change adaptation policies at the local scale. My Ph.D. research examines household-level vulnerability to climate change in the Western Ghats of Kerala. Further, it aims to propose adaptation policies for the region, specifically exploring the potential for a rehabilitation program designed for families living in areas highly susceptible to climatic hazards. My thesis emphasizes the need to implement land use regulation policies in the non-protected areas of the Western Ghats, where no such regulations currently exist.

Though my research primarily focuses on climate policy, I am interested in the areas of migration and multidisciplinary areas where domains of economics, social geography, and sociology come together. Social science problems are multidisciplinary, and so are the solutions.
