About the Position

Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Assistant (PA) position in projects focused on studying the mechanisms of tissue homeostasis. The position is based at the School of Biosciences, Chanakya University, Devanahalli, Bengaluru.

Research Focus

The research aims to understand the mechanisms underlying the restoration of tissue homeostasis upon tissue repair and regeneration, with the long-term goal of preventing tissue scarring and fibrosis. The lab is dedicated to developing novel therapeutics against fibrotic diseases.

We seek highly motivated individuals with a strong foundation in Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and related disciplines. The ideal candidate should possess a genuine curiosity for scientific inquiry, the ability to extract and apply knowledge from the literature, and excellent communication skills. Attention to detail in experimentation and data analysis is essential.

• Funding: Institutional fellowship
• PhD Opportunity: Candidates with external fellowships, laboratory experience, and high-performing candidates will have the opportunity to join as JRF and register for a PhD program at Chanakya University, as per university norms.

Essential Qualifications

• M.Sc. / M.Tech / BS-MS in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience in Molecular Biology and Tissue culture.
• Exposure to Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Histology techniques.
• Basic data analysis, compilation and presentation skills.

Candidate Profile

• Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts in Biology.
• Genuine interest in interdisciplinary research.
• Motivation for long-term research (PhD-oriented candidates preferred).

Age Limit

• Preferably below 30 years (possibility of relaxation for experienced candidates).
