Sri. Sujit Kumar Chowdhury

Sujit Kumar Chowdhury is an officer from Indian Postal Service from 1991 batch. In his career as a civil servant, he has served in various capacities in India Post and retired as Chief Postmaster General of Bihar State. He also served in key managerial positions at National Law School of India University (Bengaluru) and Karnataka State Police Housing & Infrastructure Corporation. He was the Director of Fiscal Policy Institute (Finance Dept., Govt. of Karnataka) for almost 5 years. He was instrumental in introduction of Child Budget in Karnataka state during 2020-21 besides contributing further to Gender Budget. 

He holds an M.A. (Sociology) from Patna University and M. Phil. (Sociology) from JNU, New Delhi as UGC Junior Research Fellow. He specialised in sociology of mass media (television) in his M. Phil. and worked under the guidance of Prof. T. K. Oommen. He also has a degree in Masters of Business Laws from NLSIU, Bengaluru. 

His interests are varied like painting, composing and singing ghazals, writing poetry and nonfiction features and has been published in newspapers and magazines.
