Dr Padmavathi BS is a social scientist with over two decades of experience in social research and education sector. She holds an M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees with specialization in foreign Policies (of India and the United States of America) from the Department of Political Science, Bangalore University. She began her research work with Centre for Studies of Developing Societies (CSDS) New Delhi, as a Research Associate and later as the Karnataka State Coordinator. She has coordinated and headed close to 30, state, national and international survey related projects and has published articles and co-authored books. Has contributed to the drafting of Karnataka State Youth Policy as a Member of the Drafting Committee. She served Government of Karnataka constituted Karnataka Knowledge Commission as a Senior Research Associate, anchoring several flagship initiatives across the domains. Following the unveiling of NEP 2020, she served as the Convener of Sub Committee to Task Force on Implementation of NEP in Karnataka and as a member of Task Force on Implementation of NEP in School Education in Karnataka both constituted by Government of Karnataka. Prior to joining Chanakya University, she was a Visiting Faculty at CPP, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and associated with Centre for Educational and Social Studies (CESS) as the Director and later as the Professor and Head of the Education Unit. She is passionate about policy research, macro planning, capacity building and stakeholders’ consultation.
Dr. Padmavathi is a Certified Global Career and Education Counsellor from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); holds Certificates in:
- Fundamentals of Project Planning and Management, from Darden School of Business, University of Virginia;
- Women Entrepreneurship Programme, Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore;
- Introduction to Corporate Social Responsibility, from United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR, Geneva)
