The Successful Completion of PTTS 2025 :A Celebration of Physics, Curiosity, and the Joy of Discovery at Chanakya University
“Where young minds meet mentorship, and curiosity finds its calling”
The Physics Training and Talent Search (PTTS) 2025 unfolded from June 9–18 at Chanakya University, Bengaluru—an inspired initiative by the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences to ignite young minds with the spirit of scientific inquiry.
Inaugurated by our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yashwantha Dongre, and guided by the vision of Prof. H.S. Subramanya (Dean & Pro Vice Chancellor), the program was seamlessly orchestrated by Prof. M. Sivakumar, the chief coordinator of PTTS.
From over 220 applicants across India, 34 exceptional first-year undergraduate students were selected, representing a rich tapestry of states and academic cultures.
PTTS 2025 was graced by a mesmerizing talk by Prof. Rajaram Nityananda (ICTS, Bengaluru), “A Rapid Tour of 21st Century Astronomy”, setting a celestial tone.
Academic sessions blended depth with delight: Special Theory of Relativity by Prof. Rabbi Akkiba Angiras, Physical Mathematics by Prof. M. S. R. Kumar, and conceptual problem-solving led by (Dr.) Jishnu Sai.
In our innovative lab sessions, students were not simply handed instructions — they were given experiment titles and empowered to design and execute setups through their own reasoning and creativity, echoing the spirit of real-world scientific inquiry.
The energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm displayed by the students was infectious. Many expressed that the program deepened their love for Physics and sparked an interest in research. In addition to rigorous academics, students explored research themes presented by Chanakya University faculty, enjoyed a group nature trip to Nandi Hills, and experienced the serene learning environment of the campus.
The valedictory address by Prof. Satishchandra Ogale (Director, RISE, TCG-CREST, Kolkata) on “Biomimetics: Learning Science from Nature” was a captivating finale, inspiring students to blend creativity with scientific pursuit.
PTTS 2025 not only deepened the students’ love for Physics but also lit a path toward innovation, research, and societal contribution—planting seeds that will one day shape the future of science.
