One-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) for Economics teachers titled “Redefining Economics Education” on 7th February 2026 (Saturday) at the Chanakya University Global Campus. 

The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (SoAHSS), Chanakya University, organized a One-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Redefining Economics Education” on 7th February 2026 (Saturday) at the Chanakya University campus. The program was designed to provide a platform for Economics teachers to explore new pedagogical approaches, emerging domains in economics, and the integration of technology in teaching and research. Around 25 Economics teachers from different institutions participated in the program.  

The program commenced with the welcome address delivered by Prof. Sushant T. Joshi, Registrar, Chanakya University. The first session focused on “AI and Software in Economics: Understanding Data-Driven Stories”, delivered by Ms. Isha Sharma and Mr. Ashwin Prakash, highlighting the growing role of data analytics and digital tools in economics education.  
 
The second session on “Case-Based Learning in Economics” was delivered by Dr. Prem Kumar A, emphasizing student-centric pedagogical methods. The third session on “Emerging Domains in Economics and Demystifying Economics” was delivered by Dr. Renjith Raj, who discussed the evolving scope of economics and the importance of interdisciplinary perspectives in understanding contemporary economic issues.  
 
The final interactive session was led by Prof. T. S. Somashekhar, Professor of Economics, National Law School of India University, who engaged the participants in a discussion on teaching, research, and institutional development in higher education. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants, followed by high tea.
