 ion of Psychological Science\, USA will be speaking on Looking Beyond Mult
 ilingualism and NEP 2020: Multilingualism as a First Language (MFL).\n\nAb
 out the Special Lecture Series\n\nThe Special Lecture Series of the Dr Ram
 das Pai Chair on Education provides a platform for disseminating knowledge
  and fostering critical thinking on a range of topics within the liberal d
 isciplines. The series targets students\, academics\, and individuals inte
 rested in exploring complex issues and developing a comprehensive understa
 nding of contemporary challenges. The Chair invites eminent scholars from 
 throughout the world to help accomplish these goals.\n\nAbout the Topic\n\
 nWhile NEP 2020 assigns a central role to mother tongue (MT) in education 
 for multilingualism\, it also finds MT to be elusive. How is MT related to
  multilingualism and children’s multilingual repertoire? Is the three-la
 nguage-formula in the NEP workable? How well does the NEP address the tran
 sition from MT to multilingualism? These and related questions are taken u
 p in this presentation which seeks to offer conceptualization of Multiling
 ualism as a First Language (MFL) as a basis for a dynamic model of Multili
