SUMMARY:Sanskrit Month Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:12.09.2022 to 23.09.2022 (Offine)\n\nIn 1969\, the Ministry of
 Education of Government of India issued instructions to celebrate Sanskrit
 Day at the Central and State levels. Since then\, every year on the day of
 Śrāvaṇa Pūrṇimā the Sanskrit day is celebrated all over India. Many
 institutions celebrate this as a Sanskrit week too. Following this
 tradition\, the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems\, School of Arts\,
 Humanities and Social Sciences\, organised a set of events throughout the
 month for the propagation of Sanskrit Language and the knowledge available
 in it.\n\n 	1.4.1. संस्कृतसम्भाषणम् -
 प्रथमसोपानम् (Sanskrit Communication - Level
 I)\nA 10-day Sanskrit communication course\, open to the public\, was
 conducted from 12.09.2022 to 23.09.2022 at the Brigade Orchards Campus of
 Chanakya University. The participants were familiarised with rudimentary
 aspects of Sanskrit language. They were provided the basic skills to
 understand and generate simple sentences in Sanskrit\, which they can use
 in their day-to-day life. 20 participants from various walks of life and
 from varied linguistic background were benefited from the workshop. At the
 end of the course all the participants expressed their willingness to
 continue their study of Sanskrit language.\n 	1.4.2. Online Quiz on
 Rāmāyaṇa and Mahābhārata\n9th to 11th September 2022 (Online)\nAn
 online quiz was organised on Rāmāyaṇa and Mahābhārata to raise the
 general awareness about these works. The quiz was open from 9th to 11th
 September 2022 for general public. It was organized at two levels Beginner
 and Advanced. Nearly 700 people participated in both levels of the quiz.
 E-certificates have been issued to the participants on the successful
 completion of the quiz.\n 	1.4.3. A Special Lecture on Indian Astronomical
 Instruments\n9/16/2022\nA Special Lecture on ‘Indian Astronomical
 Instruments’ by Shri V\nShivashankara Sastry was organized on 16/09/2022
 at the Brigade Orchards Campus of CU. Shri. Sastry gave a brief
 introduction to astronomical calculations in Indian from pre-historical
 times before focusing on the instruments developed by Jai Singh. He took
 the aid\nof the miniature models he had developed and explained to them how
 the instruments were used for accurate measurement. 80-90 participants
 benefited from this lecture.\n 	1.4.4. Exhibition on ‘Science in
 Sanskrit’ from 14th-20th September\n14th-20th September The Exhibition
 included over 60 posters containing excerpts from\nSanskrit works on
 various sciences like Medical Sciences\, Mathematics\, Astronomy\, Plant
 Sciences and Chemistry. It also included a display of miniature models of
 the astronomical\ninstruments designed and constructed by Indian king Sawai
 Jai Singh (1681 – 1743). These models were made by Shri V. Shivashankara
 Shastry\, an independent researcher from Kolar\, Karnataka\n
