SUMMARY:Online Certificate course on Arthashastra: Indic Civilizational
 perspectives
DESCRIPTION:The Centre is proposing a three-month long online certificate
 course on Indian Statecraft. The aim is not to limit ourselves to
 Kautilya’s Arthaśāstra the treatise on Indian statecraft\, but to
 broaden over horizons to every Arthaśāstra preceding and succeeding it.
 This will allow researchers\, scholars\, and experts from various domains
 to share their perspectives and expertise on different themes like
 governance\, law and order\, economics\, foreign policy\, military and
 strategic studies. The aim is to explore a historical context to the
 contemporary socio-political and strategic culture of India\, while
 contemplating on its contemporary relevance. The Centre envisions engaging
 established experts as well as young scholars to offer extensive and fresh
 insights to curious minds and consequential pivot to thoughtful discussions
 and ideas. The certificate course shall be conducted online for greater
 accessibility. Itshall be spread over three months February onwards\, with
 two speakers every week. Speakers may provide reading materials preceding
 their sessions\, as per their requirements. The attendees with over 80 per
 cent of attendance shall be presented with an e-certificate as a reward for
 their participation at the end. The course shall be open to all\, with a
 minimum registration fee. The target audience is expected to be PG
 students\, early career researchers\, and anyone who has a basic
 understanding of Arthaśāstra. The lectures of the speakers shall be
 compiled and published as an edited book at the end of the course The
 Online Course is a flagship course exploring various aspects of Statecraft
 from the Ancient Indic Perspectives ranging from the Idea of Dharma to
 economics and trade\, military\, law\, and foreign policy. The course is a
 four-month long course engaging subject experts across these domains.
